Environmental Policy

Lightfoot recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods.

To demonstrate our commitment, Lightfoot operates an Environmental Management System which has been certified as compliant to the ISO14001 standard, by an independent third-party assessor, and is committed to maintaining that certification.

The Board, management and teams within Lightfoot will show leadership and commitment and bear the responsibility for establishing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining the environmental management system to satisfy the requirements of the international standard.

Lightfoot is committed to the success of this policy and will ensure it is reviewed on a regular basis at the management review meeting along with its environmental objectives, for their continuing suitability and effectiveness and to implement any necessary changes. All employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

We endeavour to:

  • Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements as a minimum, and where possible exceed them
  • Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts, including by preventing pollution
  • Continually improve and monitor environmental performance
  • Increase employee awareness and training
  • Reduce the use of packaging and paper in the office, and buy recycled products wherever possible
  • Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst our customers and suppliers
  • Reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible and take the consumption and efficiency of new products into consideration prior to purchasing
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of any new products we intend to purchase
  • Utilise travel alternatives, public transport and car sharing where possible
  • Favour ‘green vehicles’ and maintain and service them regularly to ensure ongoing efficiency
  • Partially offset the greenhouse emissions generated by our activities by producing, utilising, and selling CO2 reducing products and services
  • Only use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste
  • Use local labour and materials where available to reduce CO2 and help the local community

This policy is communicated and understood throughout the organisation and is available to interested parties upon request
